So... do we have any actual word on this? I'm with Ron, I'm freaking holding my breath. Has the shipment arrived, does anyone know?
Incidentally, I've been following the Core set spoilers. There's a number of old cards we'll be able to use again, although some have significant updates. The most interesting? Go dig your Streets out. They're now One Per Deck, but apart from that identical. So far only the Street Of Steel has been actually spoiled, but no one doubts that all three will be in the Core Set.
The cards arrived yesterday (08.01.08). Unfortunately, the dude that was bringing the cards didn't bring all of them. So far we only have the following:
1x Five Kings Edition booster box
1x House of Talons booster box
1x W5K chapter box
2x Ancient Enemies chapter box
2x Sacred Bonds chapter box
We'll get the rest either tomorrow or by Tuesday of next week. By rest, I mean:
1x W5K chapter box
2x Epic Battles chapter box
Well, at the very least a new influx of cards have arrived. This will keep us busy in the next couple of months.
As for the Core Set, it just sucks that they limited the streets to one per deck. And they brought back the Littlefinger that produces gold! Though he has a funky ability and a crest! Lastly, it looks like there are new phases (i.e., Taxation Phase, Epic Phase) and new mechanics with the gold tokens and Summer/Winter seasonal thinggie.
Be that as it may, we have new cards. So all is good.
